The Alpha Course provides a relaxed and friendly environment where anyone can ask some of life's most important questions. Does God exist? Is there a purpose to life? Surely there must be more to life than this?. After dinner, a speaker will give a 20 to 30 minute talk on a key aspect of the Christian faith. Following this, people are free to discuss in groups of 10 or so. A group leader will help to 'chair' the conversation, not imposing their own views but just helping conversation to flow. No question is too simple or off limits! The course, including dinner is provided for free, so there are no excuses not to come! (people who are able can make a donation towards the cost of dinner). Anyone is welcome - register today!
Launch night is Thursday 28th January at Les Cotils Centre, St Peter Port. We are delighted to welcome Charlie Lacey to Guernsey as our guest speaker. Charlie is an ex-Royal Marine Commando who has served in Afghanistan and many other areas of conflict around the world. Charlie is now part of the Alpha for Forces and Alpha International teams, working in some of the world’s most troubled countries including Sierra Leone and Liberia. He has an incredible life story, being brought back from the brink of disaster - well worth hearing!
Please arrive at 7.30pm for dinner. Each evening will finish at around 9.30pm. The course runs each Thursday evening at Les Cotils until Thursday 18th March. There will be an additional afternoon on Saturday 6th March on the subject "The Holy Spirit". Register today using the on-line form, or contact Phil Eyre, Alpha Administrator (details below) or any of the coordinating churches (see links).
